Over time, concrete can become dull, dirty, and dry – especially outdoors. To prevent your newly purchased concrete furniture from drying out, it is recommended to apply a care product. The care product protects against the penetration of limescale, water, coffee, red wine, and similar substances.

The care product can enhance the color, making the treated item appear slightly darker. We always recommend performing a test on an inconspicuous area before treatment. How often you need to re-treat depends entirely on temperature fluctuations, sun exposure, use, and wear and tear.

A good way to check this is to touch the concrete – if it feels silky and water beads form on the surface, it is well saturated; if it feels rough, you might have waited a bit too long with the treatment.

How to clean and care for the concrete surface:

Before you begin, you should have the following items ready:

micare cleaning soap, micare multi-surface care product, a scouring pad, two microfiber cloths, and a suitable polishing cloth.

• First, lightly moisten the concrete furniture.
  
  
• Using the included OEKO-TEX-certified sponge, apply the cleaning soap and work it in with circular movements. Allow the soap to soak wet-on-wet for about 15-20 minutes.
• For stubborn dirt and limescale, use the rough side of the scouring pad. If the furniture is heavily soiled, we recommend rinsing the cleaning sponge/scouring pad with warm water in between.
• Wash off soap residue and limescale with a damp microfiber cloth and warm water.
  
  
• Allow the item to dry completely before applying the Multi Surface care product. Dip the included sponge into the Multi Surface care product and wipe off any excess on the edge.
  
  
• Apply the Multi Surface care product in a very thin layer with circular movements and work it in. Ensure that all edges and crevices are covered.
• Polish with a suitable polishing cloth. Smoothly polished concrete should always be re-polished. The furniture is immediately ready for use.

If the item feels greasy, too much Multi Surface care product has been applied. The Multi Surface care product is easiest to work with at a room temperature of 20-25 degrees Celsius.

If the water is very calcareous and you have difficulty keeping the concrete free of limescale, we recommend cleaning with micare Naturclean, which easily handles coarser dirt.
